If your PS3 is stuck, then the worst thing you can do is pull out the power cord!! NEVER EVER Put out a PS3's power cord while its running! it could seriously damage your hard drive!
Follow the tips below to ensure your PS3's Safety:-
1. If your PS3 is stuck or malfunctioning during a game or a demo, the try pressing the PS button on the controller. See if it brings up the XMB (cross media bar). if it does then select the Quit Game option!
2. if step one does not work then go to your ps3 and press the power button! after a few second you will hear a few beeps, and your ps3 will restart safely!

There are times when the PS3 will freeze up while using the Store. I've tried turning it off with the controller and it didnt work. I tried to turn it off with the power button and the power button did nothing.
